O.N.Manik. Comprehensive approach to calculating parameters of thermoelectric materials, XI. Methods of vibration theory. Matrix elements of dispersion law and their calculation by means of molecular models.

A method for calculating matrix elements of dispersion law in complex crystals is developed. A general scheme of solving vibration problem under natural coordinates is given. Methods for constructing operational operator and its generalization for the case of complex crystals by using loaded representations of space groups is given. As an example, the results of calculating matrix elements in CdSb crystals are given.

On the basis of the crystaloquasichemical approach the analysis of the defective subsystem of p-SnTe doped by elements of I-V groups of Periodic system with different deviation from stoichiometry have been made. Correlation between the hole concentration, thermoelectric coefficient of the compounds and nature of processes of the defect formation was found.

The investigation deals with thermoelectric properties of p-type samples produced by cold pressing of Sb1,5Bi0,5Te2,91Se0,09 solid solution powders comprising Te surplus and Pb acceptor impurity. Peculiarities of donor effect origination in pressed material are considered.

A procedure is proposed for rejection of ingots and plates of semiconductor thermoelectric materials, in particular bismuth telluride solid solutions. The procedure is based on gas-discharge visualization phenomenon (in other words, Kirlian effect). Deviation of calibrated specimen glow power under gas discharge visualization conditions against the standard serves as a fitness criterion. Control accuracy is + 10%.
