Honorary Golden Prize

REGULATIONS

1. General Provisions
1.1. The  Honorary Golden Prize is established as the highest award of International Thermoelectric Academy to mark outstanding scientific, engineering, technological and production achievements in the field of thermoelectricity. 
1.2. The Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy is awarded by decision of General Meeting of International Thermoelectric Academy.  
1.3. Winners of the competition for the Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy are presented the Honorary Prize and Diploma of the award.  
1.4. The receipt of the Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy provides the awarded company (organization) with the right to use its image in any promotional material deemed necessary on the sole condition that the year of awarding should be indicated.  
1.5. Expenses of making and awarding the Honorary Golden Prizes of International Thermoelectric Academy are to be covered by sponsors. The sponsors may include persons or organizations awarded with the Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy.  
2. Prize Description
The Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy is bronze art casting covered with gold. It is a sculpture of ancient Greek goddess Athena on a marble pedestal. Athena, who in ancient Greek civilization was considered a goddess of wisdom and patroness of sciences, is a symbol of the highest ITA award. The sculpture style combines classical strict motives with dynamism and fancy of modern art.  
3. Nominations and Nominees 
3.1. Every two years the Honorary Golden Prizes of International Thermoelectric Academy are awarded in the following nominations: 
3.1.1. For outstanding achievement in thermoelectricity. 
3.1.2. For fundamental contribution to progress in thermoelectricity. 
3.1.3. For technology and quality of thermoelectric products. 
3.2. Nominees of competition for the Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy may include individuals or organizations (companies, institutes, higher educational institutions, etc.). 
3.3. The results of nominees’ activity in the field of thermoelectricity presented for competition should be remarkable for a high level conforming to the prestige of  the Highest Award of International Thermoelectric Academy.  
3.4. Both individuals and organizations have the right of nomination for the competition. Entrusted by International Thermoelectric Academy, Institute of Thermoelectricity of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has also the right of nomination for the competition based on the analysis of world scientific and technical information on thermoelectricity. 
3.5.  Documents for nomination. 
3.5.1. Letter of proposal to International Thermoelectric Academy to consider the nominee. 
3.5.2. Materials of works (books, scientific publications, patent descriptions, descriptions of technological and production achievements, etc.) in the form sufficient for understanding the essence and level of the work. 
3.5.3. Information on the authors: name, year of birth, institution, position, address, telephone, fax, e-mail; or information on the organizations: organization leader, organization requisites.

4. Competition Procedure
4.1. Presented works are considered at the General Meeting of International Thermoelectric Academy. Bureau of International Thermoelectric Academy reports to the General Meeting on the proposals received.  
4.2. As a rule, considered are only the works whose results were delivered by the author  (or organization representative) to International Forum on Thermoelectricity prior to being considered by General Meeting of International Thermoelectric Academy. 
4.3. General Meeting of International Thermoelectric Academy adopts a decision on conferring the Highest Award of International Thermoelectric Academy – the Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy - by open voting after the discussion of the work, provided more than half of the present members of International Thermoelectric Academy have voted for it.  
5. Procedure of Awarding the Honorary Golden Prizes of International Thermoelectric Academy
The Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy and Diploma of the award are presented to the winners at the General Meeting of International Thermoelectric Academy in solemn atmosphere with participation of international thermoelectric community represented by attendees of regular Forum on Thermoelectricity, representatives of authorities of Ukraine, diplomatic representatives of countries whose citizens or organizations have been awarded the Honorary Golden Prize of International Thermoelectric Academy, guests of honour.
